Looking to upgrade before next year

Looking to get a few things hardware wise.. mainly some new Ram and a mobo

Currently using an AMD AM3 duel core with 2GB of DDR2 Ram, ideally I'd like to go DDR3 since my course at college involves a lot of video editing.

I've been looking around myself but since I'm not too sure about the newer tech I've come to you

Theres not a massive difference in goig from DDR2 to DDR3 tbh, imo youd be as good sticking with current mobo, just add more RAM, go for 8 gig if you can, may have to ditch the existing 2, or just add 4 to make 6 total
