I put some new bits in my machine mid 2012. I was hoping to do some upgrades with max price range £350 for both GPU and CPU.

I currently have

Sapphire 7850 2048MB and intel core i-5 3450 3.10ghz.

Would like to see a considerably performance increase for the money just my machine for AMRA 3 and DCS mostly.

Overclock the CPU as ARMA3 will appreciate that. (It's a locked CPU but should be able to squeeze a little through turbo or something)
970 for the GPU grunt, and an SSD to make things quicker! :D

I don't think youd gain too much in going for a 35/3770k so for that reason I perhaps go for a new 970 and sit on the change for a while until you're ready for a full CPU/Mainboard upgrade.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Inno3D GeForce GTX 970 OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £259.99
Total : £269.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Edit: Buy an SSD if you haven't already got one :)

I purchased the above card but it requires two connections to the psu. Either I am doing something fundamentally wrong or I should have planned a little better.

The card came with a pci to molex cable but I don't have the relevant molex connectors on my psu.

It looks like I need a female to female pci power cable but it seems they don't exist despite having one inside my rig when I opened it.
