Looking to upgrade from 16GB to 32GB Rog strix z390f gaming

Hi Guys

I am looking for some advice regarding upgrading memory.

I bought a system from overclockers in October 19 and am very happy with the system (I5 9600k running at 4.8ghz).At the time i opted for 16GB of DDR4 2400 ram ( 2x8GB sticks) and am thinking about upgrading.

I seem to have two options, either buy two more sticks of 8GB ram or go for a 2x16GB kit ( i was thinking of getting something a bit faster). I know that you should not mix ram types but am unsure what option to go for, am also unsure how to check if the ram is compatable with my motherboard

Ignore its in the title motherboard model ., doh.

2 x 16gb 3600mhz would be a solid choice.

Don't get more slow memory as that can hold the rest of the pc back. Sell that kit and get some faster memory such as the Team Group 8Pack edition 3600mhz C16 which is a good price at the moment. If you don't want to spend that much there is the Patriot Viper Steel 3600mhz C18 kit which is £30 cheaper but has looser timings.

With CPU being only 6 core/6 thread no sense to get more expensive special memory.

That's not true. A 9600k can make use of faster memory and since the Intel 7000 series came out games can be up to 30% faster with higher speed memory. Fast with tighter timings is even better.
