Hi, I've had my GTX 460 for less than a year, as it was put into the first PC I ever built. I've been getting into PC gaming for around 6-7 months, and I've decided I bloody love it. However, I'm looking to upgrade from my GTX 460 and I'll have around £250 to spend in the end. I was thinking of going SLI with another 460, but I've also been looking at 560ti's and they look good as well. Just wanted some general advice really from people who know more about this than I do.

Cheers, Matt.

hi Panda, Had similar query. Finally after many questions decided not to go with sli 460s but 1x 570. They are almost as fast literary within 5% of 580\s when oc'd on stock coolers and cost much less. They can also handle decently all that you throw at them currently. If you shop around you can get one under 200 and with 50 spare go treat your self and your girl to a romantic movies with big popcorn and cola..

what resolution are you running? SLI 460s are awesome but can be a bit warm.

Shame you haven't access to MM, try the above suggestion.

Love my 460 it's been the best card i've bought, Same boat as op as it's getting a little long in the tooth. But with the 2 camps offerings atm i have no idea what to buy :P prolyl gonna wait it out and see what midrange nvidia bring out another 460 style card would be stellar.

Sad to say there is no mid-range card worth upgrading to at the moment. Performance\price curve is appalling. I'd wait and see what Nvidia bring out for their new mid-range though I'm still mad at them for what they did with the 670Ti, sorry 680. If you were replacing something a little older then I would say the 7850 as they can be had for a very good price now. Certainly some good gains there with the 7850 over the 460 and of course double the vram. Particularly Skyrim WOW!! Anand. :)

Loved my GTX 460s in SLI. As so many have already said, they offered ridiculous performance for their value. However I came to notice that they were under tremendous strain when playing some of my games - No problem with frame rates, as they really are awesome in SLI - but the noise was eventually unbearable. So I got a good price for them last month, and bought two 560Ti Phantoms, so am back to a quiet PC even when its straining.

But if noise is no issue, two of them can still hack it out with the best. And as everyone has also said, mid-range market isn't really the best at the moment. The 560Ti has probably been considered a good one for the last few months, but with the 6xx cards to come, I guess its lost its shine (and been bettered by Radeon cards).

Same situation as op because I currently have an MSI 460GTX and love how quite it runs with the cyclone fan. Apart from BF3 I run all games maxed out that I have tried.
Even though I been offerd £130 for it. There still isn't anything without spending a lot more. That I feel would benefit my gaming anymore. So may sit it out n review again in 3-6 months.
Obv if BF3 becomes the standard then an upgrade would be pretty soon, but not at this price curve!
