Hello I am just out of hospital and a bit bored so looking to upgrade my PC,

My current spec is:

i5 750 @ 3Ghz
16GB RAM (no real reason just because)
Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3R Intel P55
AMD 5830
Samsung 830 Series SSD
22" Monitor
Antec 300 Case
OCZ StealthXStream 2 600W Power Supply

I want to run games a bit faster and a better monitor as my monitor is a bit washed out. So, I was thinking of upgrading the graphics card and maybe getting a 3D monitor?

So, can you spec me
* a graphics card that will run games well at 1920x1080
* a monitor (maybe 3D) that is at least 120hz

My budget is £500

Thanks!

That looks like a good option, however I thought that 3D vision was an nVidia technology. How would it work with the AMD graphics card? Also do I need to buy the 3D emitter thing too?

So I am thinking of forgoing 3D and going with Doomedspeed's original suggestion. Looks like a great monitor, and that graphics card should push my frames up to keep up with the higher refresh rate.

You will want to look at bumping up the OC on your CPU as well, otherwise it will likely cause a bottleneck and limit the GPUs performance.

Unfortunately my processor is a really bad overclocker. Can't get it over 3Ghz. Might consider upgrading it but would need a new motherboard too.

im still on LGA1156, and im going to a 4770K and Z87 maximus IV hero after xmas

have you got a budget we could work with for a gpu monitor and cpu/mobo upgrade?

EDIT: ive pretty much doubled your budget but its a ROG board and a 4770K, you will get that CPU over 4.5ghz easy and the 7970 1200/1600... thats not bad if i say so myself ;)

And instead of that motherboard this

That motherboard comes with this cooler free http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-012-PL

I currently have the arctic cooling freezer 7 pro

That comes to £770.96
