Morning Chaps.

I'm looking to upgrade my current GPU: EVGA GTX670 FTW, the rest of my specs are in my sig.

I am happy with my GTX670 but some times I m just wanting something more, I tend to play at 1080 for the newer games, as I feel that my 670 is not up to it while maintaining high settings with 4 x AA, i would perfer to run native 1200 through hence this post.

I would perfer to stay with Nvidia due to personal perferance, I m going to add here that I used to always have Radeons. But I feel that Nvidia have better products for the price point in my option.
I must admit the 290/x is very tempting at thier current prices shown on OCuk, but due to usage I feel Nvidia cards would fit the bill better for me.

I do not want to spend any more than £400 and I m looking to buy within the month or two.

I know this is long winded way of asking, upgrade to a GTX770 as its performace gains are what I m looking for, this means that I can watercool it. Or go for the better 780, there are some lovely factroy overclocked models for less than £400 with custom coolers, but watercooling most of them is out the question..For now...

I look forward to your throughts/comments and recommendations

A 780 would be a good upgrade and while the 290/290x' are at a good price currently, there have been too many failures and personally would get a 780 if I was looking to upgrade.

Do you have access to the OcUK MM? There have been some 780's and the Ti models going for bargain prices.

I'd look there first.

There hasn't been "too many failures" People who have problems with their cards will post about it where as the people like me who has say a 290x and has had absolutely no problems with their cards will not post about it. You do not know the percentage of people who have not had any issues vs people who have to say there are too many failures.

But anyways either a 290 or 780 would be the best option for the OP.

Thanks you for the replies so far.

Thanks for that one, I would perfer a new card due to warrenty reasons and I have budget for.. Members market is something I would like to access, so I can refit my old machine for my parents.

In your situation i'd be temped to see if i could run another 670

I completely understand that, I had the choice but I chose a sound card. Let me explain my motherboard is only a microATX, in can SLI/Crossfire...But I lose my bottom PCIe slot were the sound card is.
This is down to my poor choice in motherboards :p na I am joking its a great board, but I still should have brought a full size board.

well, it looks like you'll be buying 780 then. (maybe, just maybe 290)

the question now, is which model.

I've mentioned that in another thread, seen some 780s go for or slightly above 250 on MM. that's just too good to pass. most of them come with warranty anyway.

Since you cant sli then yes best bang for your buck atm is a 780
770 isnt imo worth considering since its really just a 680 with faster memory and not a worthwhile boost

I've just put my GTX 670 up for sale now on that well known auction site as I am also in the same position as you. I am more than likely going to get a GTX 780 and overclock it until the proper 880's come out which looks to be next year now.

Been so tempted to go back to AMD though...

The price on that windforce 290 is very nice, 90 day warrenty...Meh not so nice.

I'm going to say this through this may make me sound like a fanboi for Nvidia..I can assure you I m not.

For this machine, I feel that Nvidia cards offer me something better than AMD cards do. I did mention I owned AMD cards in the past(not in this machine), there was a reason to jump over too. I had issues with certain games, put simply I kept getting driver crashes, for no reason. On certain games..Since having Nvidia no such issues.

Since this machine is my primery gaming machine, I want a GPU that will work well for everything and anything I throw at it. Nvidia have that solution.

I think that Radeons are lovely cards if the users conditions are correct, they will serve one well, but if I got a Radeon I feel that I m going to miss having a Nv card.

This brings me to this, which GTX780?

Okay I have had a look the Ichill is slightly over budget :S.

I have found ( not from Ocuk) A Zotac GTX780 OC for £360. I can also get a stock windforce for about 380. Than of course you got your MSI gamings.

Also what is KFA2 like?

KFA2 are great my last two cards have been them both work never any problems.

Also they was BFG before and have a UK rma which I've not had to use.
