Hi all.
Need to retire off my old Marantz SR5200, it's lost the front left channel.
So looking at reviews The intended replacement will be the Sony STRDN1080.
Now the speakers are a Tannoy MX package, MX3, MX1, MXc x 2 (one used as center rear) and also the sub.
My hope is to upgrade the MX3 to something like the Q Acoustic 3050 move the MX3 to the rear and use the MX1 as the Height (Atmos) speakers.
Am I a mile off with that set up or does it sound reasonable?
As you can tell from the old set up, I haven't looked into it in a long time.
Cheers.

I'm looking through a few user manuals to see if there is any info in them regarding this.
The Sony doesn't appear to list this function, but so far the Denon would appear to. https://www.denon.co.uk/uk/product/homecinema/avreceiver/avrx2600h page Although they only list p43 and p190 but no mention of this being the atmos channel although that goes the same for the ceiling speakers. Denon appear to anly call the height too.
Looking at the Yamaha's their page states that they can run this set up also.https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/contents/audio_visual/dolby_atmos/index.html
If I don't go with the Sony then I think the Denon AVR-X2600H will be my next choice.
