Well I think its came to the point I'm ready to update my VR headset.. I have the original HTC Vive one which has served me well since it was released. I am at the point where Its too heavy/sweaty and cables everywhere...

I've moved away from playing anything room standing and only play Il2, DCS World or Racing games on a casual basis.

I was looking at upgrading to the Rift S however the Quest 2 appears to succeed this on many levels and can be had for £200 odd pounds on FB market place.

Would it see a benefit to going down this route in terms of gaming experience or should I consider increasing my budget...? Any thoughts are appreciated.

I'd 1 million % go for the Quest 2 over the Rift S even though they're a few extra quid. A HP Reverb G2 is a choice of many simmers too, something to consider, but will be more like £400'ish used.
What is your computer specs?

specs just now is
i7 6700k oc 4.4ghz
32gb 3000mhz
3080ti

cpu/mobo will be upgraded this year to likely 12700k.

I have had a look into the G2, the gains would need to be worth it as being a casual simmer I've learnt to not seek perfection and more just enjoyment from vr

great, thanks for the advice. I will look into both and make the decision. Maybe if I can get a G2 cheap enough and sell my vive for £100 or so it takes the sting out of spending more money than I expected

I stopped using controllers a while ago, for my flight sims I had my warthog and pedals.. should I dip my toes back into racing sims again I will likely purchase a steering wheel.

I don't mind being attached to the pc if it will offer a better experience.. the vive one set up is spaghetti junction at the bottom of my desk.. really off putting.
I played IL2 with my friend last night both using outdated VR's for the first time in years and had an utter blast!

Just now I'm in a toss up between the reverb and the quest.. trying to outweigh the cost/visuals/casual experience/fun.

I assume if I go for the quest the 128gb will be fine?
