hi,

i have been looking at upgrading my old CPU which at the moment is a AMD 3500+ on a 939 socket, now i know this socket is dead and that there are not many CPUs left to chose from but would i see much difference from a 3500+ to a X2 Dual Core 4400+ on a A8V deluxe mobo and if i was to change the processor would i have problems with windows or any other software due to a change over ?

Yes you'll notice a difference. Not life changing, but it's worth the upgrade.

And no you'll not have any issues with software. If you do, AMD have a dual-core patch that solves them.

i went to dual core a month or too back. turned my computer off, took my sandy 3700 out, 4200 in and booted. installed amd dual core optimiser and that was that. Some people have issues and do have to reinstall windows but don't let that put you off, the performance increase is worth it. :D

OK this sounds good then, do you think i would find a 4800+ and would there be much difference over the 4400+ ?

Only real difference is the extra 200Mhz the 4800+ has but if youre clocking the 4400+ will be perfect :)

ok thanks i am running on water as well for cooling :D which at the moment is always around 40-45c so i will have to see how much it changes when running the 4400+
