Hi, I have a dell studio 1749 laptop which runs an i5 cpu, the ram in it at the moment is what it come with over a year ago (4gb) 2x kingston 2048 MB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM Kingston KF073F-ELD.

I am wanting to try and get the maximum speed ram for it but i am unsure of what is best or what will work as i know the chipset only supports upto certain speeds etc..

the ram i was looking at was Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit which overclockers have on offer this week, i am under the impression my laptop supports upto pc3 12800 max which this is, but will it support the 1600mhz?

in short will this memory work in my laptop and will it be a lot better than what it come with, or can anyone advise a better dual kit for my system?

thank you

james
