Hi guys,

Been out of the upgrade game for some time now so lost track with the latest technologies that were released.

I'm looking for some best combos for the above. Intel based.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

I would be using the system for gaming and streaming at the same time.
Haven't really got a budget, prepared to spend whatever necessary. I loaded up BF1 last night ad whilst streaming my cpu is showing its old age now.

8700K + Z370 motherboard + 16GB DDR4 3000/3200/3466/3600 + CPU cooler unless you have a good one already

Add a Solid State Drive if you haven't got one and put Windows and programs on it. 250GB is fine, unless you also want to put some big fave games on it.

Thank guys!
I've got a GTX 1070 so a decent gpu. I've got a CoolerMaster Evo cooler but I would suspect it's not suitable with the new sockets.
Do you think I'd run into some issues if I was to straight out swap the mobo and plug in the hardware I want to keep ?
I've already got OS running on an SSD.

The EVO cooler should work on socket 1151 unless you're missing some of the mounting. It would be fine with the i5-8400 (which wouldn't be as good for the streaming) or for an i7-8700 (non-K). If you decided on the i7-8700K I'd get a better cooler - Noctua DH-15 (or similar) or 240/280/360mm liquid cooler.

It's recommended to do a clean install when changing motherboard. Having said that, some people said they didn't and it was going okay. Don't know if they ever did run into issues or not.

Ah apologies , didn't see streaming .
As Danny mentioned , 8700 non K is at a good price.
Also Ryzen 1700 ... Both of these should drop price a little in April but not to sure if that's a big ask for yourself ?

8 Pack bundle, £10 more then buying separately at the moment as ram and board are on sale but that will end soon

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £762.29 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Even cheaper and will handle Ryzen 1700 just as nicely

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £599.06 (includes shipping: £11.10)

Thanks @orbitalwalsh ! It has to be Intel for me though.
I've been running on i7 2700k since 2012 so I reckon I will be upgrading in the summer.
Holidays coming up and what not :)
