Hey all,

Looking to do abit of an upgrade to my current system in the new year and I'm just looking on some advice on what would get me abit more oomph from my system.

I'm currently running the following:
i7 930 @ stock,
6gb corsair 1600mhz ram,
gtx 570 evga stock one.,
gigabyte ga-x58-usb3 motherboard.
64gb corsair m4 ssd.
1tb samsung f3.

Need a new hard disk but going to hold off until the prices drop back down from there current stupid high.

Question is what should I do to my system to get abit more better performance in BF3 etc? Seem to be getting abit of lag when playing multiplayer. Anything I could change / upgrade?

Invest in a good cooler and overclock the cpu. Aside from that i dont see much wrong with the system. If budget allows, and if your motherboard and psu supports it. Perhaps add a second gtx 570. Would deliver a nice performance increase in bf3.

Cheers man,

Yea thinking of picking up a new GTX 570 once the next gen of cards or released ( or even pick up a second hand one).

Any recommendations for a cooler?

The silver arrow is an excellent cooler. But as Lemin says, youll need to check your rams compatibility with it. Another very good air cooler is the thermalright venomous x.

Though the fans supplied with the one linked arent great, (more for silence). You can always add fan/s of your own choosing. And it shouldnt pose any problems with memory slots. Also, what psu are you using? For sli youll need a good quality 750w+ unit.

If you have low profile ram and a case big enough go for silver arrow or noctua nh d15 both great coolers.. Will help reduce temps on overclocks quite a bit.
