So i'm after new a new mobo, cpu and ssd. I been hearing about haswell refresh this and m2 ssd that!

what should i be waiting for and when is it due?

The new Z97 chipset is out but the Haswell Refresh K CPU's aren't out until mid June. So wait til then!

The M2 SSD's are good but i don't think waiting will make them any cheaper, any SSD will be a upgrade from a normal HDD.

Depends on your current rig tbh - you can wait for new tech forever!

The question is whether you will benefit from the newer (read: more expensive) technology??

my rig is

Asrock z77 fatality profesiional
i7 3770k cpu
16gb sammy green
R9 290x with a custom cooler
128gb samsung 840 pro boot drive
256gb samsung 840 pro games drive
256gb samsung 830 apps and docs drive

what percentage increase would i be looking at if i upgraded to the new haswell cpu and new m2 ssd just for the boot drive?

Also does anyone know if you can fit a 2.5 slot gpu into a bitfenix prodigy?

You'll get a very small percentage increase, which isn't worth the money really.

The m2 would give you an increase but you won't notice too much of a difference. :D.

my i7 3770k is clocked at 4.4 but won't go higher. I'm also going to switch out of a 650d case into a 750d or i'm gonna go matx and build a prodigy system. If i do that then i'll need a new board anyway which means i'll need a new cpu :-)

you're correct. that's what it's currently running. But it would be rude not to get the latest chipset and cpu. Especially when the business is paying for it! ;-)

lol it's not 'free' as such. It's my business so it just doesn't come out of my personal income so can't go completely mental! ;)

Commercial heating businesses 'need' high end pc's. who'd have thought it....
