Looking to upgrade...

It's just about coming to that time again to upgrade... unfortunately because I've let my computer slip a little, it's going to be easier to buy an entire new system than to frankenstein new components with my existing.

Just a few quick questions! I'm looking to spend between £1k and £1200 on a new system, this is for PC only (i have monitors and peripherals and whatnot already) - is there any particular reason why I should hold off buying a machine in three weeks time? I know that there's a new processor range coming out shortly and whilst I'm not particularly bothered about having something just because it's brand new, I'm thinking that it'll likely have a knock on effect on the cost of existings ones.... however! New upgrades are coming out all the time, and so if this change is minimal then I shouldnt really let it stop me from upgrading.

I'm dual monitoring on DVI connections, though I shouldnt imagine that this is an issue with most decent new cards.

I'll be using the comp for a mixture of gaming and 3D modelling/rendering... due to the modelling side and various recent improvements I'll be looking to put a 64bit O/S on.

Is anyone able to help me out with a recommended spec or any reason why I shouldnt upgrade now? I've been having a look around but unfortunately I've dropped out of touch with the whole upgrading and new hardware side of things... again, budget I'm aiming at is around £1k to 1200, though can be slightly flexible on this if there's something worth having in there.

Cheers,
