Hi guys im new to ocuk forums and im looking to upgrade my current PC which you can see in my sig. I have about £400 to £500 to spend and looking for some suggestions please.

I would say part from a new monitor or WD Veloci Raptor your system is still good.
 
Dam forgot to add monitor on my sig have 24" LCD digimate so dont need monitor hehe.

RJC whats that pic in your sig of m8?
 
Personally, i would put the money somewhere safe, and wait untilll you take the next step to i7.
Not worth spending much money on that rig. Looks like it will play most games comfortanly on max already
 
been thinking about going back to AMD and try phenom II anyone had any experience with them and how does it compair to my current setup? I hate sitting still on my pc like to keep upgrading as i go hehe.
 
None of the Phenom IIs are worth £300 (cpu+mobo) more than your current setup. You'd be wasting your cash.

If you're desperate for performance now you could get one of the newer C2Qs or upgrade to i7 now.

None of the above is any real leap on your current performance though. Whether it's a higher clocked C2Q for £200+, a phenom II for £300+ or an i7 for a kidney and an iris.

Yes you'd get a better system, but nothing significantly faster than a Q66 at 3ghz; save your money for one of the next generation of i7s.
