hi there, im thinking of replaceing my gpu due to it overheating, i currently have a bfg gtx280oc, the temps are getting up to 105degrees before the card starts throttleing back......ive tried the usual things and even installed another fan to try and cool it with no success......

so what would you go for.?

a evga gtx480 @ £349 with the updated back plate etc

a evga gtx580 @ £400 + when they eventualy come in stock and is it worth the extra £££

or run crossfire with 2 ati cards? (if so which cards?)

cheers chris

So you've tried cleaning it? Just making sure, managed to reduce my own temps by a hell of a lot.

I would wait until next month when AMD release the 6900 range. If you don't want to wait then out of what you've listed I'd probably get a 580gtx.

(Finding a cheaper 480 with a decent custom cooler on maybe worth looking at as well).
