what i have

Mobo: Sabtertooth 990fx
cpu : AMD 8350
ram: 16 gb
gfx card: GTX 780

i want to move towards 4K gaming

can keep GTX 780

needs upgrading mobo ram and cpu, and a cooler

i might not need a cooler it depends if i can find the intel socket for it
but options is welcome

i wont be overclocking as it hasnt worked out for me in the past when i done it myself.

budget about 600ish maybe 700

hdd and ssd i already have

BeQuiet Power Zone 1000W '80 Plus Bronze' Fully Modular Power Supply
ssd is the samsung 840 EVO 250GB
case is corsair carbide 540 high airflow atx cube

So that's all good then.

I'm going to say get a 2nd 780 (you would need two anyway to at least have an attempt at 4K) and use it in your current setup.

But also I am wondering if SLI GTX780 is even good enough for 4K, what games do you plan on playing?

Then see how that goes and you can swap the cpu/board out for an intel solution.

im not loking to play 4k tomorrow, but more start building towards it abit over time, still need the screen,

so wanting to swap mobo/cpu for intel first,

Wait until Skylake is out before even thinking about changing. No doubt Intels already disgusting prices will have risen even more but at least you would be on the latest platform.
