To replace my htpc in my bedroom that I just killed I just bought the following:

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB ST3320620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM £56.99 1 £56.99
Belkin PureAV Blue Series HDMI to HDMI Cable - 1.8m (AV22300EA06) £22.99 1 £22.99
Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail £101.99 1 £101.99
G.Skill 2GB DDR2 NQ PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit £81.99 1 £81.99
Shuttle XPC SD32G2 Aluminium Barebones System - Intel Core 2 Duo (LGA775) £172.50 1 £172.50
NEC AD7170S Serial ATA 18x18 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Silver) - OEM £18.99 1 £18.99
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit Edition DVD - OEM - 1Pk (66I-00788) £61.99 1 £61.99
MSI GeForce NX7300GS-MD256EH 256MB DDR2 HDMI/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail £55.99 1 £55.99

A little cheaper than a 37P but not by much - hopefully I dont kill this one hahahaaha

It sounds very nice, look after it well. The smaller Shuttles look very cute and I want one too.

By the way those NEC SATA drives are quite noisy, there's a thread in the Optical Forum about them.

I just got an SD32G2, my first Shuttle and I'm very happy with it! Had an issue with it not booting when I first put it together but after swapping memory modules over it was fine, bit odd but there we go!

E4300 @ stock idling at 31C which ain't bad. It's quiet apart from the crappy x1300xt I put in it, but that's being replaced with an x1800xt with zalman vf900 soon... as long as it actually fits!

Oh and yeah the NEC's are noisy.. I put a silver Sony in mine.

Felix

Thanks for that - its really only for installs and occasional ripping so Im not too bothered , but someone re-installed theirs in thread you mentioned into another case and its much quieter, so I will see what mine is like.

that idle temp doesn't seem right my [email protected] idles 29-32 in an sd37p2, I also have the vcore @1.425 iirc

Well I'm not very good at fitting heatsinks, this one did move about a bit before I got it screwed in. Cooling on the 37p2 is probably a bit better anyway though.

if its just fitted it may come down a few degrees after 48 hrs, just seemed a bit high, but them I don't know your case temp so is probably fine

dont think the x1800xt and vf900 will fit. only single slot cards/coolers will fit im affraid :(

BUT

its nothing a little modding won't solve :) check out the gallery at the top here for ideas
