That's right, today I became an ex-MR2 owner as I waved goodbye to my tubby. I sold it today to the first person that came to view it, he gave me the asking price so we're both happy :)

A few pics of the car to remind you of what it looked like.

Now go and start a 'Show us your desk' thread in GD :p

It must be a shame to see it go... but just think S2 Elise

Are you definatly not getting a VX220 now then?

I'll wait until I withdraw the rest of the money out for the Elise then I'll take a pic to post over there :)

I'm 99% certain that I'm gonna get an Elise now.

My first impression of the standard VX220 turbo was that it was a nice car but not really much of an upgrade to my MR2. Then I went for a passenger ride in a modded one (Stage 1 boost + 16/17 wheel combo) which was far better. Then a few weeks ago I went out in an Elise 111R and was blown away, I've never been in a car that gripped quite so well, it defied the laws of physics!

I think I'll just get an 04 spec 111S though, they seem a bit less hardcore and it kinda seems a bit pointless to get another VTECish engine when I've got the CTR.

So thats why you were polishing it up so well, money well invested there :)

What milage, year was it again

You should've seen me this week, I must've spent 30+ hours polishing in the last week! (all by hand - my PC7424 hasn't arrived yet) My neighbours think I'm mad however I just sold a 1994 car for £7k so it's been worth it.

Really need to compare the VXR to the 111R . The one I test drove had Ohlins and Pagids, and well that VXR was an amazing car.

I know it's girly but my main problem with the VXR is that they're all flippin' red, and not a particularly nice shade either. There is 1 blue one (#65)but the owner thinks it's worth £29k. He's had it up for sale for about 6 months that I know of, no idea why it hasn't sold yet :D :D

Ha ha beat me to it :)

I'm stripping an MR2 tomorrow (front ender). Quick question, do they use anything in the way of torx screws, or is it held together with proper stuff? :)

Ermmm.....not that I can think of, just nuts n' bolts.

I wasn't really planning to sell it but I was always getting emails from people asking if I'd consider selling it. I'd always been sensible and turned them down however I guess one of them caught me at a weak moment.

My defences were further weakened by my test drive in an Elise so it was time to move on.

But now Fox will get the pleasure of seeing my old car, the new owner is from down his way. :)
