Hey all

So I am out of the loop on what I need, been such a long time since I looked at fx cards.

So I currently have a 4890 at stock and its beginning to show its ages at 1920 x 1080. I only play a few games but now BF3 and SWTOR are out I am wanting to be running them with some eye candy. My system was starting to struggle with both. I am at work now but will edit it later but I think my system currently is:

i5 2.4ghz (2009)
Asus Motherboard
4Gb Ram

So thinking in the region of £150. Would prefer Nvidia as ATI does come with its problems when I am working with 3D software. Some of the drivers do not support certain software.

Any help or advise would be brilliant!

The 1Gb Ti is the best card at that price point. Power draw is quite low, especially compared to higher end cards. However, it won't cut it on BF3 multiplayer with big maps and 64-man servers, unless you're willing to compromise a bit.

To my knowledge, a Ti will run BF3 on high at 1080p with FXAA and maybe one or two options toned down (e.g. shadow detail) and run at around 45fps average, which is fine. That's in multiplayer. In campaign you should be able to get away with Ultra.

If you want to go ultra in multiplayer, a 570 (starting at around £240) is what you'd need, but even then you might need to tone down MSAA.

Apparently Nvida themselves have said that no single card will max out BF3, so bear that in mind.

But yes, overall the Ti is a cracking card for the money.
