I'm currently fitting a d5 170 pump/tube combo at the front of the case

but the way this is laid out and the position of the IN/OUT ports means if i go >> pump/res >> cpu >>> rad >> pump/res >> I'll have to cross the tubing.

Is there any problem going >>>pump/res>>rad>>> cpu >>> pump/res

Would just look a bit smarter.

The order of the individual components dosent really matter, just make sure you get the inlet and outlets the correct way around

This. Its always irrelevant as the water reaches an equilibrium temperature in your system anyway. People sometimes think it has to be radiator to pump to block as then the block will be getting colder water.
