Loop finished, only one leak so far, no disaster...

I'd imagine the t line is for draining.

Oh dear :( all may not be lost, pics of the damage? Did you slip or something removing the block? Which cards and blocks?

How was the cap attatched? soldered or just pressed with TIM? If the latter, its entirely possible the card is fine and you can reattach it :)

Looks like a Fermi card to me too, they had the big heat spreaders on the core.
 
Ah that looks like what was wrong with the temps on that card then, looks like it had all ready come away from the sounds of the temps
 
Right......

I re seated the cap on top of the gpu, and then put some more paste on the cap after cleaning it. Put block back on and re connected it to the loop.

Both cards work fine. Massive, massive relief. Temp difference between cards is now around 8c on stock. Will now test with voltage ramped up..
 
Not sure really, as said before when in a loop together they shouldn't be more than a couple of degrees difference.

Both of my gtx 680's are sat here on idle (with oc'd cpu in the loop too) at 26'c
 
I get a 5c difference in temps with my sli, did you put paste between the heat spreader that fell off and the chip?
 
Phew!!!

It depends on the cards tbh, I usually only had a 3c max difference but that was with 360 worth of radiator supporting each component.

Certainly a big improvement over your previous temps, I'd just leave it as is and keep a close eye on temps over the next few days.
