Loop problem

I've finally got enough fittings to set up a temporary loop, until I can afford a few more, but the problem I'm having is every time I switch the pump off, the coolant keeps back filling causing it to fully fill the res, and passing air into the top rad. Along with that, the front rad flow goes in reverse to a point and then a big air bubble appears then stops.


My loop order is, res, pump, rad, EK bridge to gpu,1 and 2, cpu block top rad then back to res. I've got a couple of ideas one being a huge air pocket in the front Monsta rad, or a long shot being the res anti vortex plate, is licking the fluid up so much it is passing air out of the res into the pump, I only say this as, a lot of bubbles seem to be passing between the res and pump.


I had the system running over night, but it is still the same today, the only difference being that between the res and pump, I had a Primochill flow meter, but it wasn't fully filling, so I removed it thinking it wasn't helping. Alo If I lie the pc on its back ( cable side ) it doesn't happen at all.




 
It's an air pocket in at least one of the rads. The front one as you suspect, judging by the pic.
I had the exact same thing a while back (with the front Monsta too, funnily enough :D).

You seem to have room to access the top ports on the front, so just use the port to bleed it. Shouldn't get too messy if you're quick.

I've tried the front ports mate, and there is fluid above it, I really need to get to the ports on the top. It the bloody Monsta rad, for all the good they are at cooling when the are mounted vertically there a pain in the arse to bleed.
 
I can get to the front ports, but not the top, well I can now, I dug the Dremel out, and made a hole. It all seems fine now.

Yes mate Aurora 2 silver, mixed with X1 oil black, oil black my arse, it's more green in person, I'm going to add 250ml, of Pastel black concentrate to the mix next week. Hopefully it will give the effect I'm looking for, if not, I'll just use, the black pastel.
 
Oil black is dark green and since you mixed it (diluted it) with aurora its not going to look black or even oil black. Please don't blame the product when you mixed it your self and diluted its colour.

If you wished for aurora black you should have mixed it you self from the ground up not mixing 2 different and separate products that just dilute each other.

Any chance of you guys giving us quick guidelines as to what mix gives what colour? It would be quite useful, especially with stuff like aurora fluids.
We could ask the moderators to make a sticky out of it
 
It was green before diluting it mate, and actually purple with light behind it, the only reason it was diluted was because it was not black to begin with,and with nothing to loose I added all of about 50ml of the Aurora 2, to 1 litre, of oil black, just to make enough of fluid to fill the loop.

So your advertising X1 oil black as BLACK, and you've just said it's not black its " green " I'm sure I was taught in college that when you mix black and silver you should get a dark silver, which is what I was expecting to get by mixing black and silver, but not when your X1 oil black is not black but green, so considering it came out of the horses mouth I think I'm within my right to not only blame the product but false advertising, by saying black is black when it is in fact green.
 
To make black with out using Pastel and just X1 or XT1 one you need to mix with either.

Purple Dye + Yellow Dye (if you add to much yellow dye you can add more purple.)

Or

Purple Dye + UV Yellow Green

Or

Purple Dye + Yellow Dye + UV clear Blue

Or

Purple Dye + Yellow Dye + Red Dye (tiny amount)

Or

Purple Dye + Yellow Dye + UV Pink Dye

These will all make different types of black

were they talking about Dyes or Pigments .... becuase they are both diffrent and there is no such thing as black dye its purple .....
