Hi all,

Just wondered if anybody has any knowledge or experience of looped supplies being "unlooped"?

Looking at getting an EV and we are looped with our nextdoor neighbour. We have a lovely driveway that cost 5 grand or so 7 years ago. We are reluctant to have the work done due to being worried they would not return it to how it was previously.

We have the 2 cables coming in to our cutout, nextdoor neighbour only has one (which I presume is coming from us).

Would I be correct in thinking that they would only need to access our cutout to disconnect our neighbours and dig their front garden up (grass and concrete) to run a new line in? Affectively not disturbing our driveway?

our DNO thought we may be on a looped supply when they came to upgrade my fuse..... they dug up my drive ............... and it wasnt!.

i was surprised as i thought it was obvious by looking at your incoming supply (if it was looped i thought it had 2 cables).

i wasnt bothered because that part of my drive was ugly concrete but it does stand out quite clearly where it was dug up!.

I can't believe the 2 responses were complete extreme opposites
your best bet is call your DNO and ask.... its free anyway so you have nothing to lose. Maybe it depends what equipment they have with them... or maybe it is because my driveway was a pigs ear anyway, had i of had a nicer drive perhaps they would have used something different.

If you are at the end of the loop you only have 1 cable.

So, you get on well with the neighbours then? ;)
