My Predator X34A (21:9 3440x1440 100Hz) monitor is pretty old now but still works really well for me but recently the screen started flickering while I'm sim racing (really not good if racing online!) which I traced back to the power plug/socket being loose so when my steering wheel kicks out a load of force feedback it can make my screen flicker and/or switch off until I wiggle the power plug, not good. Is this a common problem and thus a fix is known or am I going to have to dismantle it and start poking around?

I already tried duct taping the cord in a place where it would work but I assume the problem is more likely to be the port rattling around rather than the plug becuase it didn't work.

You are probably right. I took the back cover off of it this morning and the port is a bit wobbly, strangely though I could not replicate the issue while the rear cover was off at all, whereas before with the cover on all I had to do was touch the power plug and that would trigger it.

It looks like a bit of a nightmare to actually dig further to get to the joints:

I put some thick Gorilla duct tape in the gaps here (both sides) to take up the slack between the plastic and the metal:

Then put some more over the top to further stabalize it:

The rear cover is back on now and the issue seems to have gone away but I also couldn't replicate it without the tape and with the rear cover off so I have no idea why it was suddenly fine after simply removing the rear cover. Weirdly I can also now wiggle the plug and it is all fine.

It looks like it will be one of those issues that will come back again and force me to look into it even further.
