Where the hell do you buy them ?

I don't want to buy a box of 50 of type M screws when I only need 5 of each :(

Seems I can't even find the right forum to post my plight :(

Do you have any agricultural suppliers near you?

We've got a company that mainly supplies the likes of professional landscapers and farmers and it's the best place by far for a lot of machine screws as they carry everything and sell them individually (as a farmer might need an M15 and half a dozen M5's, along with some 6 inch carriage bolts), it's an odd place as you go in and about a third of the store (inside at least) is fishing/hunting, then about a third is small garden machinery/normal gardening supplies, then you've got racks of chain, ropes, and a cornucopia of ironmongery.

Wilko have a pick 'n mix screw selection in store. Most of the selection is wood/decking screws but they should also do some machine screws.

I get all this sort of thing from EBay as you can buy packs of ten which is normally more than enough, bit of a pain when it comes to delivery. You could always try asking here?

Are you sure you don't have some sort of trade place near you?

We've got these guys near us, they do most things. I often just walk in with a screw and say I need X of these :D

I generally do all my shopping online (apart from clothes and groceries) so have no idea what is still around town these days in terms of independent stores, I found a little kit that has 20 of each screw I need on ebay for cheap which is perfect for my needs

I feel so lucky that I still have an old school Ironmongers up the road from me, I get get pretty much what ever loose fittings I want in Metric and Imperial and a knowledgeable old codger to guide me to the right thing I want ;)
