Right found some good editing software for VOB files, and found out that I can join VOB files into a big divx file which is brilliant however;

VOB File
0x80 - Audio - AC3 / 2ch / 48kHz / DRC / English / LBA: 13 / PTS: 00:00:00.287 / Delay: 0ms
0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 / 720x576 (PAL) / 16:9 / Letterboxed / LBA: 6 / PTS: 00:00:00.287 / Delay: 0ms

Divx Converter
Home Theater 720 394
HD 720p 960 x 526
HD 1080p 1920 x 1052

OR I can custom resolution however if i select 720 is 720x394 or 576 is 1052x576

Why can I do the same as it is even if i use custom res?

720x576 PAL is a 4:3 resolution.

If your source VOB is 16:9 (widescreen), as it appears to be given the 0xE0 line, then it looks like it's auto-detecting that, and giving you only the 16:9 resolutions to play with, so that it's not wasting bits encoding the black bars top/bottom - like a standard 720x576 DVD resolution does.
