Loot and survive games?

Been out the loop for quite a while.

Anyone recommend any good open world loot and survive ie zombies or other creature games (ideally online) i use to play a game called WarZ / NewZ which was right up my alley but sadly the player base has declined and id consider the game abandoned now.

DayZ looks a bit too hardcore for me so id skip that.

appreciate any suggestions.

Rust, Scum and Deadside might be worth a look. Only played Scum as SP so no idea how popular it is online and never played Deadside. I'm sure Rust is still popular though not played since Xmas.

Have a look at Project Zomboid, still in Early Access but there's plenty of depth to it.

7 Days to Die is amazing imo - the vanilla game is OK but it really comes into its own with the overhaul mods like Undead Legacy and Darkness Falls!

Personally I tend to host a private server for a few mates but there are plenty of decent servers put there if you want multiplayer!

Warning off the bat, the graphics aren't spectacular by any means but functional and relatively easy to pick up

State of decay 2, 3rd person zombie survival with base building etc. Only played it in single player but great game can't wait for the next one

Yes - well worth it - it has a great story line and some of the battles are epic!
