My 8800GTX died before crimbo :( And as I had no Win7 compat cards I needed a replacement.

I went for the Geforce GTX 560 (non-ti), as that seemed the best in my below £150 budget.

Now I know with my Core 2 E6700 I've got quite a lopsided system, and I am going to start to save for a new mobo/cpu, probly i5.

In the meantime what I was just wondering, is what, if any, settings in games could I wack up, because they are mainly GPU based? i.e. for example if AA was all GPU then I could turn that up a bit as I'd have the spare overhead.

Surely the best thing would be to start up a game and check for your self? :D
I see what you're asking, but that extra headroom won't count for anything with your CPU holding it back.

Sadly it varies from game to game, e.g. BF3 is very gpu bound but a source game like TF2/L4D is cpu bound. Your best bet is just whack all the settings to max in whatever game you're playing, then turn them down step by step till it's playable.
