Lose connection to my remote

I've got a Samsung TV in the bedroom that has a nvidia Shield connected directly via HDMI and a PS5 connected via HDMI switch

I set it all up and the TV remote works on both the TV and nvidia Shield like I'd expect

When I use the PS5 via the switch, the TV remote looses connection to the Shield and I can't control anything

I can reset the TV and it will work until I use the PS5. Any ideas?

It's probably messing with CEC stuff.

Which from my experience can be a bit of a mess at the best of times, never mind throwing a hdmi switch in.

thanks, got it figured last night - it was the HDMI switch. Took it out and no issues

I'll just have to manually swap over the HDMI cable in the PS5 to get around it

Probably not a good idea to keep on pluggin and unplugging HDMI.

Doesn't your TV have two HDMI inputs?

The TV does yes but thats not the problem.
The HDMI splitter I bought was bi-directional so I could have 1 input (PS5) and 2 outputs (TV in bedroom and monitor in office)

With the splitter not working, the only way I can seem to do it is swap the cable when needed
