Loss of internet - where to start?

My brother has lost internet at his house. He's with Orange BB and using a wannadoo branded wireless modem (Inventel DV4210-WU).

Apparently he accidentally pulled out the cable from the wall that goes to the router. Straight after this, he plugged it back in and the internet was gone.

He has done a hard reset (overnight) and checked other connections etc. The router can connect with PCs via it's IP so there is a connection but just no internet. Since the problem came immediately after the wire coming out we can basically rule out the line itself going down. My suspicions lie with the filter and cable taking damage but he tells me the line had been pulled out and replaced without problems several times before.

What do you think could be the issue? What should be tried next?

Hi

he needs to check if he is gettings a sync on the router. If he is not then my first thing would be try and different cable and then try and different micro filter. If still not getting sync then take the router down to the master socket and try again with 2 different rj-11 cables and 2 different micro filters. If after that still no sync then time to call Orange tech support or if possible test with a different router.
