Hello, i recently finished building my PC (first build ever! :)) and was experiencing some problems while playing certain games. It happens while playing and the monitor just seems to lose signal. I try doing all command prompts while this has happened and i get nothing. The only solution is to restart the computer which upon reboot seems to find the signal just fine. I really don't know what is going on and need help :)

My specs:

I have this exact problem, and have done for years, it's caused me to change graphics cards but the problem still exists.

I think it's the power supply for me.

By the way, all our specs are completely different, my pc is like 4-5 years old.

Will be watching this thread closely!

- What drivers you running?
- Is it the "drivers stop responding and recovering" error?
- This using HDMI or DVI?
- Checked for loose power connector on the monitor?
- you monitored the card temps using MSI afterburner?
- you tried the games in windowed mode?
- You tried re-seating the card?

If it's 12.4, try uninstalling the drivers, then installing 12.6.

Removing AMD's junk.

this is really wierd but when i turned on my pc this morning a pop up message said i should download the 12.6 driver, ive done that now and just need to wait and see if anyhting crashes.

To answer your questions:

- What drivers you running? - not sure, do you mean like the version?
- Is it the "drivers stop responding and recovering" error? - dont think so, i don't get any error message i just lose signal to the screen and have to restart the pc before any output is displayed.
- This using HDMI or DVI? - HDMI
- Checked for loose power connector on the monitor? - Yes seems fine, besides i only lose signal, there is still a message on the monitor which says "no signal"
- you monitored the card temps using MSI afterburner? - no but i have a temp display on my pc and it has never gone above 47 degrees
- you tried the games in windowed mode? not yet, but sometimes while playing a game my pc randomly decides to change to windowed mode for no reason, didn't know if that might help.
- You tried re-seating the card? not sure what you mean, sorry.

Do you think what happened this morning where my pc automatically updated to 12.6 might solve the problem. The loss of signal also isnt consistent, ive been able to play max payne for more than an hour and a half before with no problems. The crash/loss of signal has currently only happened 3 times but i was just worried as to what was wrong. It happened twice on max payne and once on no more room in hell

i dont know whether it would make any difference but my monitor is a "monitor/Tv" or thats what it says on the front. Its a m2262D LG FLATRON

sure. If it doesn work, use the 12.6 un-install option. If it doesn't work use the cleaning procedure. If it doesn't work, try a DVI if you can. Then windowed mode, use MSI aftetburner to make sure it's not getting stupidly hot (unlikely). Then do a memtest run overnight.
