Hi,
I've just completed a new build and I am getting an issue where i loose video signal after my computer goes into Hibernation mode. The light on the front of the computer goes from blinking to a solid light but the display shows no signal. The only way to fix it is to do a hard reset (long pressing on the power button).
I had the exact same problem on my old system, which was several years old. The only component i'm using from my old system with my new setup is the Samsung 850Pro SSD. It's pretty much a completely new build but the same problem persists. I seem to remember only getting this problem when I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
On both my old system and new system performing a hard reset would cause the bios to detect an incorrect shutdown but there would be no other error messages displayed. On my old system performing a hard reset would cause my installation of Windows 10 to become corrupt so I had to disable Hibernation mode to prevent this.
Here are my specs:
- MSI Nvidia GTX 1080Ti Founders Edition 11GB GDDR5X Graphics Card
- Intel Core I7-7700K 4.20 GHz Socket 1151 8MB Cache
- Asus Intel ROG MAXIMUS IX CODE LGA 1151 ATX Motherboard
- Corsair Dominator Platinum Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15 Memory Kit
- Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
- Corsair AXi 860W Fully Modular 80+ Platinum Power Supply
- Corsair Sp120 Rgb Fan - With Controller
- 850Evo Pro SSD (carried over from old system)
- Windows 10 (Clean install)
- Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard
My computer is connected to an amp (Onkyo 809) which is then connected to a Samsung LED TV via HDMI.
Things i've tried:
- Quickly pressing the power button
- Turning the amp off and on
- Turning the TV off and on
- Connecting the HDMI cable from the graphics card directly to the TV
- Moving the mouse and pressing the keyboard keys
- Turning off and on the mouse/keyboard
- Updating my video card drivers
- Updating Windows
Things I haven't tried:
- Updating my Bios
- Connecting a wired mouse to the system
- Downgrading to Windows 7
Any assistance on this would be helpful. It's pretty annoying that I have the exact same problem as my old PC, especially after I've spent so much money on a new build.
Thanks all
