Ok guys, think I know what I'm going to be told but wanted to run it past you all anyway.

Noticed tonight that my broadband speed was really poor. Checked the router... synced at 800-something Kbps. Erm, no, that should be 3900-ish Kbps.

Rebooted in the hope it was a glitch. Re-synced at 928 Kbps .

Used the BT Speed Checker as suggested by Plus Net's troubleshooting and found that my IP Profile is set to 818 Kbps.

So, for reasons unknown I have lost nearly three quarters of my connection speed.

Is there anything I can do at all? Or just wait, hope the line stays stable and the Exchange sorts itself out?

Cheers guys.

This happened to me the last 2 weeks and to all my friends on xbox =/ then today it just went back up to full speed. I don't know why at all.

To add to the confusion, the router just disconnected itself, re-synced at 300-ish Kbps down and 100-ish Kbps up... I'm hoping this is an exchange side problem. I can't see that it's something 'local'?

Cant see the issue being exchange side,
Most of the time BT profiling system "rambo" takes 24 / 72 hours to change profile,
If the sync speed is changing a lot its going going to be up long enough to let rambo change the profile,
in saying that if its a major line issue a profile of 135 can be a give away.

Best check over the setup,
Master / test socket and changing filters, making sure you are not using any sore of extension cables and so on.
