Someone asked me to look at their PC. They have lost all admin rights.
The only user on the PC is this user. Its personal machine.
You can add new users, but can't give them admin rights.
Can't launch a command prompt in admin mode either.
A load of the windows applications, functions are all copies (1) etc.
I told them they should back up their files, test the backup, then justinstall a fresh copy of windows. I know they won't they will spend weeks trying to fix it. But I was just curious has anyone seen this? I suspect its either been hacked, (user reported seeing another admin account) or a windows update has gone awry.
