Lost CoD4 game manual...

Right... I have a problem!
Basically, I've lost my CoD4 game manual so I no longer have my cd-key... Now I formatted my C: drive a few weeks ago, but the game is still on my D: drive...

Usually you can just check your registry to find CD key but since I formatted I can't do that anymore...

This isnt a thread asking for a CD key though! It's a thread asking if there's any way to find my CD key in the game install... In the 'install.log' there are a few cd keys in there (for me) and I was wondering if anyone knew which one of those might be my actual CD key? (cross referencing your own cd key with the ones in there..)

If anyone could help I'd appreciate it!
 
Can you still load up the game?
If you can load up COD4 multiplayer, go to options and multiplayer options. Then 'enter key code' and it should tell you it.

I can load up the game but that doesnt work. Basically what happened is when I loaded the game without an activision profile or w/e it removed my key from the game. When I try and join servers it says 'Key code is not valid. Please enter your key in the Multiplayer Options/Enter key...' Hence why I want to find out my old CD key... hoping its one of those in the install.log...
 
Start > Run > regedit > HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE > Activision > Call of Duty4 > codkey > double click on it > change it > ok > close
 
So when you formatted, you deleted off your Documents and Settings folder? That's where the profile is kept. If you could recover that, and replace your current profile, it should work instantly.

Didn't keep My Documents, was only selective about what I kept inside...

Bummer this isn't looking good!
 
Well I emailed Activision (did everything possible to prove I owned it, bought it etc.) and the reply I got was
As stated in the game manual on page 1, "If you lose your CD-Key, you will not be issued another one."

Damn, I guess I should have checked that on page 1 of my manual ;) :p

Bummer, and seeing as CoD4 is still £30 not much I can do about it anytime soon!
