Hello,

I've managed to inherit an HP Proliant ML 350 G4 from my work as it's not needed there, but no-one knows where the key to unlock the case is. I don't want to break the lock, but does anyone know of a way to get inside the case please? It has a poor 512MB of RAM and I would like to beef it up a bit.

Many thanks,
SHARKTICUS

What kind of lock is it? if you give HP a ring they might send a replacement (as i doubt there unique)

Paperclip and a small screwdriver to apply torque to the lock barrel.

Go read a Lock Picking Guide on Google if you do not know how to do it.

The locks are very simple. :)

Thanks for the replies everyone, I figured I would see if there was a way in if I couldn't get the key that wouldn't take the lock out of action for good!

If it takes a circular type key with a hollow centre, ie a hollow cylinder, you could try rolling up some cardboard or bog roll tube to the appropriate diameter and forcing it in and turning. If it is a generic keylock and isn't heavily keyed/toothed then you may have a chance at getting it to turn.

I'm 90% sure those key's aren't unique, we use them for our clients and I'm always 'borrowing' keys from one server and using them to open up others.
