lost left side view thingy in xp

hi all, i have lost the side view that was on the left hand side, was a view that i could "play all" go straight to documents and c:drive etc
how can i get this back?
please help

Go into folder options and then tick the options that says "show common tasks in folders"

That should be it.

but how did it change when i didnt touch anything....

Maybe you changed some Performance Options?

yup

noticed when i looked at the folders view then remembered in system/advanced/performance one of the boxes is "show common tasks in folders"
