Lost Media Centre CD

I have a computer I bought from a retail store a few years ago. It has a Windows Media Centre sticker on it with the serial number but I have lost the CD.

I have all the drivers so I dont need the original cd with all the drivers I just need a standard media centre cd.

what can i do? I need to reformat the computer

Borrow one or swallow the bitter pill and buy another copy. Beyond that there is not much else you can do. You can try to contact the PC maker for a replacement CD but tbh they charge nearly as much as a new copy anyway.

Microsoft has used to sell media only for around £20. I am not sure if they still do.

Worth giving them a call to check

Just download the media but make sure it is the genuine un-modified version. If you ask very very nicely someon on here might do a copy of their media for you aslong as you mention exactly what version of media centre you require

Are you sure there was a cd with it, most computers bought from retail stores come with a recovery disk and the OS software is on a hidden partition on the hard drive.

Is it XP? If so does it have a folder called i386 in the root of C
