Lost my ID, whats the quickest replacement?

Hey Guys,

The other day i was pick pocketed and as a consequence had my driving licence stolen. The problem is it takes 10 working days to get a new one delivered (thats not including the time to send the form off) My problem is i really need ID for next Wednesday (20th) Are there any forms of ID that are widely accepted that can be issued by this time? BTW - Passport isn't an option as its expired and is in the process of being replaced!

Go to a train station and ask for a photographic id pass to nowhere, they just take your details and photo and give it to you there. My dad did this on the way back from London as he had lost his wallet before the airport and thus had no id to travel with... Might work.

Wow I've never heard of that before. I can't see any info online for it, do you need any proof of address/age with you to do that?

Can't get through to him right now as he's at a wedding reception - chatted to my brother but he only remembers the same as me. Will definately ring him tonight at some stage and then update this thread - that ok?

It might make a difference knowing what you need the ID for because if it is for a company they frequently have different requirements and may even state their policy on their website (should they have one). In some places for instance you can use a utility bill (registered to the address obviously although not mobile bills etc) and a bank card with accompanying bank statement if all you need is proof of address.

Another option is to pop into the bank you have an account with (although I suppose you could do it with any bank really) and ask them to countersign on a passport photo, usually something along the lines of "I certify that this is a true likeness of Mr X", ideally they will have known you for a few years to be able to verify if whoever needs to identify you calls them up.

What do you need the ID for? For some things it's drivers licence or passport, nothing else.

hahaha! Thats quality, yep that'll defo work, and also how did you know my favourite elephant type? I thought that info was classified!

Right, it's not anything major its just I'm heding dow south on a jolly next week, but I'm 19 and occasionally get ID'd so ideally I need some form of photo ID. So it's nothing too major, but any help would be great!

You can get a replacement drivers license these days just by phoning up. Thats what I did. Arrived in about 3 days too.

Oh right just went by what the website says, just out of interest; how do they know that its you on the phone as online you need to send them other forms of id, and did you just pay by card?
