So, bit of a whoopsy today, lost the only key for the Lexus GS300 I bought a few days ago. I have a few questions.

Most options are going to require me to present the V5, I don't have it as I sent it off for change of keeper. How long are they taking to return them these days, the tax change might have had an effect on this?

I have no keys at all, who knows a locksmith who can cut a new key and program it to start the car, how far do I have to bend over? Likewise for a dealer replacement..

For those more in the know with Toybotas, how does the immobiliser work? Do I abslutely need to reprogram something or could I just replace with a matching key/barrel/immobiliser module and start the car?

I vaguely know a guy who works at Lexus Wolverhampton, he works in sales but I can ask a few questions of him if need be..! Not sure how to proceed tbh.

Looks like I can just change to a good matching engine ECU, barrel and key and roll on. Will have to smash a window to get in though, that will look good on the CCTV :D

I assume you've had a real good hunt around at home/work/wherever you last had it? Unless you lost it out in public somewhere, I'd be spending a day looking for it before I resorted to the other options necessary :p

It's not in the car, is it?! :D

If you're going to have to change the barrel anyway, would it not make more sense to try and drill it and open the door that way? Rather than adding a window to the list of things you're having to replace :p

I can't imagine anyone will bat an eyelid, pretty standard round here depending where you parked it :D
