lost os9 ibook password

hi guys ive just bought a g3 ibook running os9.1, however i do no know the passwords to login for any users nor do i have an os9 disc to reinstall the os.

does anyone know how i can setup a new user or reset the password for one of the user accounts already on it?.

Could buy an el cheapo copy of OSX and wipe the HDD OSX > OS9

or ask the person for the pw?

Why not? There's at least 2 models of G3 ibook, the earliest being the Clamshell (which you probably have a case for seeing as the base model shipped with 32MB RAM!).

Personally I wouldnt infect any machine with any Mac OS <X, as Apple's Classic OSes are abominations that make Windows 95 look sophisticated under the hood.
