Ultima OCHD4870, INTEL CORE 2 QUAD Q6600, 2.4GHZ @ 3.0GHZ + QUAD CORE 4GB DDR2 SYSTEM, IP35 PRO, GEFORCE 8800GTX.

System was shut down normally overnight.
Next day booted up, all appeared to be running ok, but monitor stayed black, showing “check input cable ”
Different monitor, graphics card, and cable used with same result.
Finally got system boot up and monitor to display by pressing system reset button on Antec 900 case.
System will boot only up to post 29, unless reset button is pressed and held.

Cpuz and PC Wizard both show clocks core speed as 2135.0 – 2136.4 MHz, core voltage fluctuates between 1.29 to 1.4 V at idle.
Multiplier X6.
Bus Speed 356.0 MHz.
Rated FSB 1424.0 – 1426.4 MHz
Abit guru shows :
ExtClk 356 MHz
PCIEClk 101MHZ
Vcore 1.4500V
DDR2 2.200V
MCH 1.25V 1.33V
ICHIO 1.5V 1.55V
CPU VTT 1.2V 1.27V
DDR2 REF 0%V
ICH 1.05V 1.12V

Checked Bios setting it's all set up for OCUK 3.2 overclock.
Computer tries to run at 3.2 MHz for a few seconds, then reverts to 2135 MHz.

Any ideas, to stop me crying ?

Thats your problem. Speedstetp is reducing the multi from 9x to 6x. Go into the BIOS and disable c1e and eist

i disabled mine once but thought it a waste of electricity lol. no point running pc full power in desktop! run an application and see the speed in cpuz increase.

I love you and want to have your babies, unless you are a Big Brother or X-Factor fan of course.
Seems to be OK now.
Thanks for tip.
