MP skins probably, also maybe even a pre-order bonus? since that seems to be the popular thing to do these days. My guess would be just a Cameo appearance in the MP (or maybe even something to do with a co-op mode?).

Both games are fairly crap MP wise, but for entirely different reasons

It's just a promo video for the multiplayer skin characters. I hear Albert Wesker Resident Evil 5 version may also be included as well. Not surprising if it did since the first Lost Planet had Dead Rising's Frank West. But to get characters from a different company's IP, great credit to Capcom there.

Apparently the creator of Lost Planet is a big Gears of War fan, so teamed up with Epic to put Marcus and Dom in Lost Planet 2. Pretty sure it's multiplayer skins only.

Yeah and it was two Capcom games that helped influenced the design of Gears of War and so in the end, what a funny twist of irony and tribute.
