Well it is out - two flavours: a Direct X 9 version, AND A DX 10 VERSION - so anyone with a DX 10 card and vista is in luck, because you can actually play something on it.
I played the DX9 one, and it is the most poorly optimised thing ever.
Trust me so far it makes Rainbow 6 Vegas seem like an amazing port.
Now it is obviously not done yet, so I would expect them to tweak it, but I had to have EVERYHTING set to lowest, and the res at 800 X 600 to evewn make it basically playable - just breaking 20FPS on those settings was a real feat.
Now I know my card is not the newest, but it can handle Rainbow 6 Vegas on fairly decent settings, STALKER maxed out (but with static lighting) Supreme Commander etc - M2TW maxed out.
It makes no sense that it should run this badly.
Plus the constantly falling snow makes it bloody impossible to see anything.
*sigh*
Maybe when I get my 8800 GTS this summer it will all be ok
Can someone give us some DX 10 pics of it please? Maybe compare them to someone else's DX 9 pics... if you can make thje bloody thing actually move at a rate where it can be played
