So what's the general thought on this game?

I remember at one point, around the time Gears Of war was out, People said it was fantastic. But if it's so good, why does it never get any mention what so ever any more? Was it all hype from the time of release and has it just been forgotten?

I played the demo a while back, And I didn't really enjoy it. But in saying that, I had only just got the 360, and had a lot of games to play and catch up on. I may have over looked it a fair bit, as I was kinda hooked on other games like Mass Effect and Gears.

Played the single player campaign to the finish.

First off it looks amazing, really amazing and the first few levels are excellent but I soon got tired and slightly bored of the gameplay and I wouldn't recommend it.

edit: I know this is a bit woolly but I'm cooking and I'll have a think and expand later!

Bought it im so many missions into it but its a very linear experience. mobs then boss throughout and does get to feel very repetative. I quit playing it until i get the need again. I think it is a very average shooter and isn't as good as what i thought it was going to be.

I would have a look at other games which are more fun, Splintercell Double agent is a great game if you have not got it, can be had for about a fiver now as well.

I thought it was really quite a good game... Yes it can become a bit stale though.

The first mission isn't a very good representation of the game though, took me months to actually bother getting past the first mission.

Played it and was determined to finish it, but really didn't think it was very good.

The way missions/cutscenes/story blended together made no sense. It gets rather tedious before too long. It is pretty though.

If you can get it for a fiver, I'd say its ok.

It's a nice looking game that got a huge boost by the pre-release demo which gave really good impressions; but the game pretty much consisted of that demo over and over and over again in slightly varying environments. There isn't enough variety in the game, basically.

The only thing i found good in the game were the bosses, were really challenging on a higher difficulty but rest of the game is pretty boring after while.

i got this game on the ps3 as it was on sale, i enjoyed the game and didnt really think that it deserve the stick it got. it does get repetative, and it may not be as good as gears of war but i say give it ago U MIGHT BE SURPRIED

I managed to play this a little on a friends 360 and thought it was quite fun. I can see how it might get repetative though, if you can pick it up cheap then it's probably worth getting as it will keep you occupied for a while.

One of my favourite games. I played this a lot online and I'm actually gonna buy it again tomorrow now because of this thread. :D

I played it a bit on my PC.

Played it on the TV with a 360 pad and got a few levels in, quite enjoyed it, and then stopped.
I think I just got bored.

I always intended to finish it, just got sidetracked by other things, and never went back to it... I shall return and start again sometime... but it's a bit of fun.

If you can pick it up cheap 2nd hand, I'd probably recommend that... or rent it?

Vin.

Played it once, it has sat on my shelf since. Very repetitive. The mecha battles were the most interesting bits, simply because robots fighting to the death is awesome by default.

I think I may have to rent the game via lovefilm. Just to get a feel for it.

Also, Speaking of robot mech battles. Did you ever see a movie called RobotJox? Really old film, I've not seen it since I was really young, but i remember thinking it was awesome :D
