Or so it seems :)

Havnt been paying much attention to new release recently in the graphics card world and are now a little lost.

The GTS 320mb or 640mb card was the one to go for price/power but im not sure whats going on now..

we have the 8800T 512mb for about £150ish
the 8800GTS 640mb for £170ish the 32mb just under
the 8800GTS 512mb at £200ish

whats the difference? what order do these cards go? has the old 32mb gts slower than the GT512mb?

Reason I'm asking as after a new card for around £150, it will only be running 1440x900 or 1280x1024 butall sorts of new games.
I was going to get a gts320mb but not sure now, the ati's worth considering?

The ATI is worth considering but the GT is better. The above poster is just taking things to the extreme.

If it was my money then I'd be buying that GT(512mb).

I believe the order of the most powerfull to the least powerful is:

8800GTS 512mb
8800GT 512mb
8800GTS 640mb
8800GTS 320mb

Although the 640mb GTS 'can' beat the GT in some games .

And the 8800GT isn't 'too' far behind the 512mb GTS card in regards to overall performance.

I just got the 8800GTS 512mb and I'm more than happy with it currently.

8800GT 256MB
8800GTS 320MB
3870XT 512MB
8800GTS 640MB
8800GT 512MB
8800GTS 512MB
8800GTX
8800Ultra

I think thats the gist of things at present?

The 256MB GT is faster than the 320MB GTS, but slower than the 3870 in everything but crysis. It's all in the sticky....

<quickly updates the sticky>

the gt is about 10% slower than the new 512mb gts which in turn is almost as fast as the gtx in most games, usually just a few fps gap.
