Lost V5 Form - Anyway to find the V5 Number?

Sadly my son passed away a couple of months ago, and we have just now paid off th efinance to keep his car.

We cannot find the V5 anywhere, is there a way to change owner without the form, apart from filling out a V62.
Is there a way to find the V5 number anywhere?

Your best bet would probably be to contact DVLA? Tell them the circumstances and they should be able to point you in the right direction.

If you don’t have the V5C or reference number you will have to fill out a V62 to update owner details. You can print it and post from the DVLA link below it does cost £25 though.

As IC3 said you will have to contact the DVLA direct. A friend of mine had to get a car registered in her name after her father had died and they required copies of the death certificate and other documents to switch the registered keeper. The DVLA have a department for this sort of thing think it called the Casework team.
