I reset my pc without realising that I would need a windows product key to access it again. If I contacted overclockers with my order number could they give me the code I was supplied with with my PC? I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place cause these forums are so confusing.

did you buy Windows retail or was it OEM version?

as far as I'm aware OCuk don't keep copies of peoples keys.

did you upgrade to W10 at any point? if so you could install W10 and this should be activated.

If you bought a full PC from OcUK then either:

1) the licence key will be on a label located somewhere on the outside of the PC case
2) the licence key may be listed somewhere within the BIOS

If you bought a PC without O/S, and then bought Windows separately, then the licence key will be on the pack you bought, or if bought on the web, might be in an email from the seller.

As said, retailers/manufacturers do not normally keep copies of the licence keys installed on PCs, but you could webnote them with your original order number.

Should be able to find your product key in your registry using reg edit

I think when he said: "I reset my pc" he meant that he already formatted his drive.
If you bought a pc with an OS, you should have a sticker with the serial somewhere.

Unfortunately you are stuffed. The sticker is your licence and it should have been stuck to the outside of a prebuilt system as per Microsoft terms of distribution.

Also manufacturers are not supposed to take details of the actual product key. They can log the COA but that is for stocking purposes.
