Hi

I want to completely restore my PC but I lost the windows disc. Tried restoring to the earliest date from a stored image but it's not quite what I'm after.

Am I pretty much stuch with having to purchase a new copy of windows?

Thanks

You will still have your serial number on your computer if you go into My Computer and then System Properties it will be at the bottom. I'm sure Microsoft can assist if you or another means of getting a disc will be the better option.

Official ISO images for Windows can be downloaded from Digital River. Have a search on here, I've seen a link posted previously.

Burn one of those and use it with the serial key on the OEM sticker.

And having to manually load smartdrv or it took days to install! :D

Bring back DOS I say. Running memmaker or QEMM, or editing the config.sys and autoexec.bat to get that extra few k of base memory just so you could have sound AND CD working at the same time, not to forget making pretty .bat menus to load your favourite games that much quicker! :)

I think this is just the product id. Need to use magic jelly bean key finder.
